Jasper Johns inspired words

There must be something about Jasper Johns because he's made it in all three of the past summers with symbols, numbers and now letters.

To start, the girls brainstormed ideas of what words they wanted to use, keeping length and number of letters per word in mind, then made a grid for their letters.

Next, using thinned down pale pink they painted the shapes of their letters trying to keep them the same height and thickness.

Then color was added. They started with one color and put a little in each square.

Some of them observed how well some colors worked together like turquoise beside yellow and how others didn't like purple in the letter and light purple beside  it.

And one a sweet parent snapped of the pregnant art teacher with her precious student ❤️💜💙💚💛
